Roy's Cakes & Bakes

Roy's Cakes & Bakes

Just when you thought (and admittedly I once did too) that there was nowhere in our area that did baked goods suitable for those with Coeliac Disease..

It's about time you're introduced to Roy's Cakes & Bakes.

Their gluten free journey started around 2 and a half years ago after the request of a customer, and unbeknownst to them, they were soon to become very popular! Since starting their gluten free website 18 months ago, they have sent over 2000 orders across the country, and have just recently opened their Gluten Free Bakehouse which sits in front of their bakery.

Although their physical store is located off the beaten track, just past Little Downham, Ely, their website is loaded with between 50-60 different products every Wednesday evening and sent out as postal orders. Don't let this stop you from travelling though, as they have attracted customers from as far as Essex, Peterborough and Kettering - because who wouldn't travel for gluten free baked goods!?! In their Bakehouse alongside their baked goods, you can also find their gluten free pantry range, stocking things such as GF Oats, Xantham, and Baking powder, which you'll find cheaper than the supermarket prices.

Their journey is just beginning, and I suspect I will be one of many who will be scheduling a date in my diary to visit their Gluten Free Bakehouse, because quite frankly there is nowhere off-limits when it comes to travelling for gluten free baked goods - so even better when they're local!

Thank you to Roy and Diane for providing me with this information to form a blog post, and I'd recommend keeping a watch out to see their new logo launch on their website in January, which really sums up their business.
